McDavid Finally Speaks Up Regarding His Future in Edmonton
In three years, the best player in the NHL will be a free agent, and talks for his next contract are already beginning to spread.
McDavid Talks About His Future
Connor McDavid was asked to talk about his career plans in a recent interview.
Here's what he said:
"I love playing in Edmonton, and I really feel at home there. Lauren also loves being in Edmonton. Many things align for us in Edmonton. We are very comfortable there. However, that being said, it's three years down the road. We need to assess where our lives are at and proceed from there.
I don't say this to raise eyebrows or cause panic. It's just the reality. But I genuinely love playing in Edmonton, and I am fully committed to winning here with this group...
And we're going to see it through."
McDavid's Choice
McDavid could play anywhere he wants to. He'll have to decide between staying with the team he's always been on or going on an adventure and moving his career elsewhere.
Every team would love to have him. The real challenge is affording him. He'll likely be the highest-paid player in the NHL with his next contract.
However, he won't let this chatter interfere with his performances and will try once again this year to bring the Stanley Cup to Edmonton.
