MUST READ - Evander Kane settles assault accusation lawsuit
Edmonton Oilers Star Evander Kane has been a hot topic and usually not for good reasons.
For those that didn't hear, a female has made allegations that she was assaulted by the Oilers star though no charges were laid against Kane. Kane and his ex wife Anna Kane are also in court over issues with their divorce.
Kane was also in court for this case in question stemmed from 2016 when Kane was accused of the following:
Documents filed in Erie County State Supreme Court on behalf of Kuechle say Kane met her in a bar, invited her to what he said was a party and then attacked her, causing cuts and bleeding that required multiple surgeries. Without providing details of how she was injured, her lawyers said Kuechle suffered "serious emotional trauma" and "serious, permanent and painful personal injuries."
Buffalo police investigated the matter but found insufficient evidence against Kane.
Today Evander Kane's lawyer confirmed in court and to The Athletic that:
"a settlement had been reached in the case. The plaintiff in the case has filed paperwork to dismiss her case with prejudice."
Oilers forward Evander Kane has settled a long-running lawsuit brought by Rachel Kuechle, a Buffalo-area woman who accused him of assaulting her. The settlement also includes his counter-defamation claim against her.
