Savoie was rushed to the hospital and it was later confirmed that he had broken his femur, the largest bone in the human body and the most difficult one to break. The expected recovery time for a broken femur is 4-6 months.
Savoie Speaks
For the first time since the injury, Sam Savoie has spoken to the public about what happened and how he is doing.
Here is his message translated:
"Hello everyone, it's Sam Savoie. Things are going better today, I made it through surgery, and I'm feeling a lot better. I want to thank all of you for the messages and support you've sent to me. Thank you." -Samuel Savoie
It is encouraging to see him recovering quickly and in good spirits. Hopefully, he can grow from this experience and one day make the NHL with the Blackhawks.
