Connor McDavid may have won big at tonight's NHL Awards in Nashville, but that didn't stop him from losing in a whole other way. During the ceremony, McDavid was asked about the size of the engagement ring he gave his new fiancée, Lauren Kyle.
Knox Bentley, the nine-year-old son of awards show host/country music star Dierks Bentley, inflicted quite the burn onto McDavid's ego in that moment:

McDavid humble-bragged in response, so it's unlikely that any insecurities over the size of Kyle's engagement ring will outweigh actually being engaged for him - nor would it outweigh the awards and accolades won by McDavid in a career-high season for the best player in the game.
