Wednesday night marks the start of the Stanley Cup finals in which the Colorado Avalanche will host the two-time defending stanley cup champion Tampa Bay Lightning for game 1.
The good news for the Tampa Bay Lightning and bad news for Colorado Avalanche is, it sounds like Lightning star
Brayden Point could be making his playoff return.
According to NHL insider Joe Smith, Brayden Point is a full participant in practice today. He is centering the third-line and on the teams first powerplay unit.
Point hasn't played since game 7 of the first series against Toronto when he left with a knee injury after taking an awkward collision into the boards.
While the third line is not his usual role, he has not played a game in weeks, so this will most likely merely be a ''warm up'' game, and we will see him back on his normal line likely for game 2 or 3.
While it is still not 100% that he will return tomorrow night, if he is practicing with the top unit, it seems like all signs point to yes.
