HUGE NEWS for Tampa Bay Lightning heading into Stanley cup Finals
The Lightning went down 2-0 agains the New York Rangers, then absolutely dominated them and won 4 straight. They walked through the Florida Panthers, sweeping them in 4 like they were playing boys against men. They managed to accomplish both of these feats without one of their best players, Brayden Point.
Brayden Point was forced to leave the game in the 1st period after an awkward fall but returned to the Lightning bench in the 2nd period and attempted to play through the injury pic.twitter.com/F23xoXkktT— Hockey Night in Canada (@hockeynight) May 15, 2022
Point was injured in game 7 against the Toronto Maple Leafs and has not played since. But according to Elliotte Friedman, the Lightning expect Point in the lineup for the stanley cup finals.
Jon Cooper says Brayden Point is «extremely probable» to play in the final, although he's not sure about Game 1— Elliotte Friedman (@FriedgeHNIC) June 12, 2022
The return of Brayden Point will be a huge welcome for matchup purposes with the Colorado Avalanche who might be the best offensive team they've played yet in the playoffs. The Toronto Maple Leafs possess the best goal scorer in the league this season, but the Avalanche have scoring on all 4 lines and defence as well.
Will the Lightning take down Colorado and win their third straight? Or will the Avalanche take them out?
