It was an interesting season for Phil Kessel. The veteran forward played all season for Vegas but was a healthy scratch for much of their Stanley Cup run. Now that the season is over, Kessel seems to be celebrating in a rather unique way.
Kessel Loves Pizza
It looks like Phil Kessel has found a new Cup celebration food.
Years ago it was hotdogs, earlier this summer it was tater tots, and now it's pizza. The three-time Cup Champ was spotted recently at a Chuck-E-Cheese enjoying a pizza. Kessel was noticed by a fan and posed for a picture.
This fan had his child with him, who seemed to share Kessel's enthusiasm for food.
"***** wasn't phased at all...just wanted to feed him his pizza!"
While we're happy Kessel is enjoying his offseason, this sighting has fans wondering what's next.
Next Season
Kessel has yet to ink a contract for the 2023-24 season, leaving many wondering if he plans on retiring later this summer. While it may be looking too far into it, most athletes don't eat junk food when trying to earn a new deal.
Phil The Thrill has never fit the stereotypical mold of what a hockey player should look like. He's been what most would consider to be "out of shape" for most of his career, but it hasn't stopped him from becoming a fan favorite in the best league in the world. Now, with three Stanley Cup Rings to his name, maybe it's time for Phil to call it a career.
