Friday night the National Hockey League held their All-Star weekend Skills Competition, which to many was a very dull night, but one of the highlights that stick out in everyone's head, was Alexander Ovechkin's son Sergei, going on a breakaway with his father and rival Sidney Crosby, and scoring a goal on Hall of Fame goaltender Roberto Luongo.
Former NHL superstar goaltender Dominik Hasek has been publicly calling out the NHL since the start of the war to ban/suspend Russian players from the NHL, especially when it comes to Ovechkin who in the past has shown support for Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Hasek had this to say regarding Ovechkin Jr, taking part:
"The [NHL] has sunk to rock bottom! Letting Ovechkin's son perform on the ice at the NHL All-Star is spitting in the face of approximately 500 killed, thousands injured and tens of thousands of kidnapped Ukrainian children. The NHL and Gary Bettman must pay for this heinous act!"
