For the first time in the teams existence, the Vegas Golden Knights are at risk of missing the postseason.

The Golden Knights are currently sitting one spot out of the Wild Card position with 90 points, 3 points behind the Dallas Stars for the final spot. The Knights were in a must win game last night against the San Jose Sharks and blew it in the final second and lost in a shootout and lost a must needed point.
The Knights have 3 games remaining in the season against the St. Louis Blues as the final game, the Chicago Blackhawks and most importantly is next game against the Dallas Stars who they're trailing for the final spot.
If the Golden Knights can defeat the Dallas Stars next game in regulation, it will bring them to within 1 points of the Stars, who also have 3 games remaining. The Stars unfortunately for Vegas, have a much easier final two games than the Knights, playing the Arizona Coyotes (last place) and the Anaheim Ducks who will be without Captain Ryan Getzlaf who just announced his retirement after last nights final home game of the season.
According to Moneypuck.com the Golden Knights have a possible chance, but very slim still at making it, with a 15.3% chance.
On a game per game basis according to MoneyPuck again:
Vegas vs Dallas - 55% chance Vegas wins
Vegas vs Chicago - 57.5% chance Vegas wins
Vegas vs St. Louis - 43.4% chance Vegas wins
Dallas vs Arizona - 65.4% chance Dallas wins
Dallas vs Anaheim - 56% chance Dallas wins
This doesn't look good for Vegas as by the stats, Dallas has a much better chance with 87% odds.
But one step at a time, Vegas needs to beat Dallas in the next in regulation.
