Adam Johnson's death hit the hockey world hard. One player that was exceptionally moved by his passing in Jets defenseman Neal Pionk, who was close Friends with Adam.

Adam Johnson and Neal Pionk were exceptionally close friends. Pionk revealed in an interview with Jets beat writer Mike McIntyre that Johnson was a groomsman at his wedding. He also stated that he will be away from the team as he attends Johnson's funeral this Sunday and celebration of life on Monday.

Pionk also revealed devastating news, stating that he can't stop thinking about his friend when he's playing in the NHL. One has to think that this situation is weighing on him heavily.

"The last couple of games every TV timeout I can't stop thinking about it. Every intermission it's all I think about. Yesterday I was in the penalty box that's all I was thinking about."


The Jets Play the Arizona Coyotes tomorrow and the St. Louis Blues on Tuesday. We will see if Pionk is available for either game.
