In every sense of the word, Connor Bedard has been a star this season, and while he's adapted to the NHL game relatively well, it appears his Head Coach still sees a major need for improvement.
Offensively, there's little doubt that Bedard will be one of the biggest stars in the NHL in no time if he isn't already, but defensively, there's still a ways to go, and Richardson was asked about that recently.
On the powerplay, Bedard has been fantastic, but at this stage of his career, he's just not a positive on the defensive end, and until that's the case, he may not see the penalty kill or late game, clutch stages with a lead.
Ultimately, he's still just 18-years of age, and will continue to grow in size and mentally as the years go on, and at that point, he could become a player for every situation, but for now, their Head Coach is clearly taking the humorous approach.
