The Philadelphia Flyers are reportedly making plans to trade Tony DeAngelo. The transaction would see him return to his previous team, the Carolina Hurricanes.
DeAngelo to Rejoin Hurricanes
NHL insider Elliotte Friedman has disclosed that a trade deal is in the works between the Flyers and the Hurricanes. If this deal goes through, defenseman Tony DeAngelo would be back with the Canes.
DeAngelo, who was traded from Carolina to the Flyers during last year's NHL Entry Draft, would be returning to his old team almost a year to the day. There had been speculation that DeAngelo's demanded pay increase was a deal-breaker for Carolina. Ironically, the Hurricanes are now apparently prepared to accept him back at his requested salary.
Under the leadership of the Flyers' newly appointed General Manager, Daniel Briere, the team has made a number of significant changes. Thus far, Briere's decisions have generally been perceived as advantageous for Philadelphia. Time will tell whether these recent moves continue his winning streak.
