When the St. Louis Blues committed to their younger players long term this past offseason, it meant that some of their veterans were most likely not returning to the Blues.

They already traded away long-time Blue Vladimir Tarasenko to the New York Rangers recently, and now it looks like they are parting ways with their captain.

It has been made official that the St. Louis Blues have traded Ryan O'Reilly to the Toronto Maple Leafs:

TOR gets: Ryan O'Reilly & Noel Acciari
STL gets: Mikhail Abramov and Adam Gaudette, TOR first-rounder in 2023, OTT third-rounder in 2023 and TOR second in 2024.
MIN as middlemen gets TOR fourth round pick in 2025

O'Reilly was a huge part of the Blues cup run, but with the team heading in a new direction, it looks like the Blues did not see him as part of their future.

We have acquired Ryan O'Reilly & Noel Acciari in a three-team trade with St. Louis & Minnesota.
