BREAKING: Penguins Sign Three Players Including a Former First-Round Pick
In the last few minutes, the Pittsburgh Penguins organization have announced three signings.
They have announced the signing of professional tryout contracts with the following players:
A 31-year-old right-handed defenseman who was drafted in the 1st round (23rd pick) by the Buffalo Sabres in 2010.
Last season, he accumulated 12 points in 68 games played with the Sabres. In his NHL career, he has 104 points in 521 games. (162 penalty minutes)
A 25-year-old left-handed defenseman, who stands at 6 feet 2 inches and weighs 210 pounds. Hajek was the 37th overall pick by the Tampa Bay Lightning in 2016. He has 12 points in 110 NHL games, including 16 games played with the New York Rangers last season.
He was involved in the major trade that sent
Ryan McDonagh and JT Miller to the Lightning.
A 26-year-old forward who has 42 points in 178 career NHL games, including 21 points in his rookie season. (70 penalty minutes)
We wish them the best of luck with this new opportunity, and these are therefore three names that we need to remove from the list of the best available free agents.
