We are fast approaching the 2023 National Hockey League trade deadline, and with all the rumours swirling around upcoming trades, teams are looking at freeing up some cap space to try to swing some moves.
Unfortunately, this meant some players hit to waiver wire today, which included an NHL veteran of over 500 games.
Chris Tierney was part of the trade with the San Jose Sharks and Ottawa Senators that involved the superstar Erik Karlsson. When Tierney joined the Senators, he went on to have some very productive seasons, scoring 48 points in his first season with the Senators. But after some declining years, he was not re-signed with the Senators and instead opted to go to the Florida Panthers, where he has been between the NHL and AHL this season.
