After 6 straight first round exits many are wondering if a major change is going to happen in Toronto, which many called for and did not getting following last years game 7 loss in the first round to the Montreal Canadiens.
It has been reported that there are changes coming to the Leafs top two lines, as well as John Tavares position in the line-up.
Friedman on 590 says that he thinks the Leafs will make some changes, particularly says that they'll be looking for more tenacity in their top-6. Also has some questions for where Tavares plays in the lineup next season, either the center or wing. #LeafsForever Jori Negin-Shecter (@JNeginShecter) May 16, 2022
It has also been confirmed that GM Kyle Dubas will remain in his role, but that an extension is not set in stone.
Also says that Dubas will be back next season. No concern about his contract status, though wonders if extension is in the cards. #LeafsForever Jori Negin-Shecter (@JNeginShecter) May 16, 2022
While the early playoff exits have been disappointing for Toronto, this is a talented team that has consistently run into some bad luck and taken some bad bounces, and completely overhauling the team and management seems like a bad move.
