After being forced to retire in 2021 due to medical issues, Henrik Lundqvist announced his return to the ice a few months ago when it was announced he would be inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 2023.
On Sunday, Lundqvist took part in the Hockey Hall of Fame Legends Classic, and the video of him taking the ice once more brings plenty of emotion to the surface as the legendary goaltender believed he would never do it again.
Over a stellar 887 game career with the New York Rangers, Lundqvist became a legend in New York, tallying a 459-310-96 record along with a 2.43 GAA and a .918 save percentage, and while he never one a Stanley Cup, he's beloved among hockey fans, and it's incredible to see him on the ice once more.
