The 2022-23 season has been the year of the waiver-wire. Almost every day an exciting name gets put on waivers for a chance to get claimed by the other 31 teams in the league.
Due to the flat cap though, teams are reluctant to take a chance on these players so they end up clearing waivers and getting assigned to the AHL or bought-out if they've been put on waivers for contract termination.
Today is another one of those days as a former 2012 first round pick has found his way to the waiver-wire.
The 2012 21st overall pick Mark Jankowski by the Calgary Flames has been a journeyman throughout his career. He signed with the Nashville Predators this season and has some tremendous success in the AHL to start the year, scoring 5 goals and 9 points in 7 games before getting called up. But unfortunately, he has a hard time translating his game to the NHL as he only scored 4 goals and 7 points in 26 games.
