During an early afternoon game between the New Jersey Devils and Boston Bruins, there was one moment where a rookie defenseman absolutely slams Brad Marchand to the ice.
Nemec Slams Marchand To The Ice After Scuffle
One of the league's biggest instigators Brad Marchand was trying to welcome rookie Simon Nemec to the league but got welcomed with some unwanted physicality.
The two players come together along the boards when Marchand tries to tie up the rookie and get in his way but Nemec had other plans.
The 19-year-old proceeded to put the Bruins captain into a headlock and slam him to the ice. Both players went without injuries and the play continued.

All-Star Swayman Ruins The Day For The Devils
Despite the aggressive play on Marchand, the Bruins would go on to win the game 3-0 with a 31-save shutout for the All-Star goalie Jeremy Swayman.
Marchand and David Pasternak would lead the way with two points each as the Bruins improved to 27-8-9 on the year.
For the Devils they continue to struggle when Jack Hughes fails to get on the scoresheet, Nico Daws would make 33 saves on the night. The injured Devils will look to bounce back on Wednesday night against the Montreal Canadiens.
