Former Teammates Fight During Play Stoppage
The Philadelphia Flyers and Washington Capitals faced off Friday night with playoff implications on the line. It was also the first game back for former Capital Garnet Hathaway. Surprisingly two former teammates came to blows with Tom Wilson and Hathaway fighting during play stoppage.
Former Teammates went at it as there may be some bad blood there
Former teammates Tom Wilson and Garnet Hathaway began jostling back and forth during a play stoppage. The two players got in to a slashing match before starting a scrum with each other. The two never game to full blows and both just received double minors for roughing.
Rarely do you ever see former teammates fight it out, so perhaps there is some bad blood between the two. Or perhaps, and probably more likely, tempers just got the best of both players.

Capitals ended up defeating the Flyers in a rough and tight checking affair
With the two teams facing off on Friday, it was an important match up. The Philadelphia Flyers need to gain points on the teams chasing them in the standings and the Washington Capitals are clawing their way up the standings to at least secure a wild card position.
The Flyers stormed out the gate and lead 2-0 after the first period. In the second period the tide turned in favour of the Capitals as they scored three to take a 3-2 lead. In the third period the Capitals iced the game with two more goals to win the game 5-2. The Capitals are now just five points out of a wildcard position with three games in hand.
