Bo Groulx cleared waivers after the Maple Leafs put him on them Monday, while the Jets placed Brad Lambert on waivers Tuesday, according to Elliotte Friedman.
Bo Groulx cleared waivers, so no NHL team wanted to take on the Maple Leafs forward.
Toronto placed him on waivers Monday, and the all clear came Tuesday.
Around the same time, the Winnipeg Jets put Brad Lambert on waivers, which makes the former first-round pick available to every other club.
Elliotte Friedman shared both updates on X Tuesday.
Groulx made the Toronto roster out of camp, winning a spot over Steven Lorentz.
The job never turned into anything steady.
He played seven games without a point, and his last appearance on October 28 against Seattle lasted just 6:23.
Dakota Joshua returning from a core muscle injury pushed him further down the depth chart.
What the move means for Toronto
Groulx can now be assigned to the Toronto Marlies, where he did plenty of damage last season.
He scored a career-high 28 goals and 52 points in 59 regular season games, then added eight goals and 14 points in 23 playoff contests as the Marlies won their second Calder Cup.
He is in the second year of a two-year contract with a cap hit of $812,500.
Across 85 career NHL games, the Rouen, France native has four goals and six assists.
He spent time with the New York Rangers before signing with Toronto in July 2025.
Lambert's path in Winnipeg
Lambert is 22, born in Lahti, Finland, and was the 30th overall pick in 2022.
His first NHL goal came November 1, 2025, in a 5-2 win over the Pittsburgh Penguins.
Winnipeg later gave his camp permission to look for a trade partner, and he finished last season with three goals and three assists.
His entry-level contract expires after this season, with restricted free agency waiting in 2027.
If nobody claims him, he can head back down to the Manitoba Moose.
