Connor Hellebuyck pre-emptively rejects six different trade offers

TSN's Darren Dreger addressed the swirling speculation directly, making clear that Hellebuyck has no interest in landing north of the border.

That statement effectively eliminates the Montreal Canadiens and Edmonton Oilers, two clubs that have been floated as potential fits given their ongoing goaltending needs.

Both teams could have used a three-time Vezina Trophy winner between the pipes, but Hellebuyck's full no-movement clause gives him final say on any destination, and Canada is reportedly not on his list.

With Canadian teams out of the picture, the market narrows considerably. Buffalo remains the most talked-about suitor, having come close to acquiring Hellebuyck before the trade deadline last season.

The Sabres have young, NHL-ready pieces that could interest Winnipeg general manager Kevin Cheveldayoff.

Carolina has also been mentioned as a possible trade partner, though nothing on the table so far has matched what Winnipeg considers fair value.

The Vegas Golden Knights could emerge as a dark horse given their shaky tandem in net, and they have the type of ready-made assets Cheveldayoff has said he wants in return.

Cheveldayoff has made it known he is not interested in a rebuild-style package of picks and prospects. He wants players who help Winnipeg remain competitive now, which has slowed talks considerably.

Hellebuyck carries five years remaining on his contract at an $8.5 million cap hit, making him one of the most complicated pieces to move in recent memory.

With his no-trade list narrowing the field, the pressure is mounting on Winnipeg to find a partner willing to meet their price before training camp tensions boil over.
