Alex Ovechkin disses NHL with comments about Four Nations faceoff

Washington Capitals superstar Alex Ovechkin had some choice comments for Gary Bettman and the NHL when asked about the Four Nations faceoff.
The Four Nations faceoff has been a resounding success so far, with hockey fans across the world coming together to celebrate the first best-on-best tournament in quite some time.
Unfortunately though, this event inherently ignores players from any country not named Sweden, Canada, Finland, or the United States.
This means that all the Russian, Czech, Slovakian, German, Latvian, and other nationalities represented in the NHL do not have a place to compete.
Ovechkin referenced this in his latest comments about the tournament, indicating that he simply does not care because his countrymen are not there.
"I won't be watching the Four Nations Tournament. What's the point of watching something where the Russian team isn't participating?"
Of course, if the Russian team was participating, Ovechkin wouldn't be watching it happen on TV either.
Rather, he would be participating in the event himself, likely leading the team in scoring.
Instead, since the Russians were not invited to the Four Nations faceoff, Ovechkin has taken advantage of his time off to visit Miami where he is on vacation.
That being said, he is still taking care of himself, as he even posted about training with one of his former teammates.
Hopefully, the next time we get a major best-on-best tournament, the Russians as well as all the other Europeans will be able to participate.
Until then, we will just have to enjoy what the NHL has given us. So far, it has not disappointed.
