Former Washington Capitals defenseman Alex Alexeyev, who is now with the Pittsburgh Penguins, disclosed the damage to his teeth during this year's playoffs.
NHL hockey players often have scars from their many years of battle that they sport as badges of honor, and former Washington Capitals defenseman Alex Alexeyev, who is now with the Pittsburgh Penguins, is one of them.
Alexeyev, who recently completed 6 years in the Capitals organization before joining the Penguins this summer, took a high stick from Montreal Canadiens forward Josh Evans in the 1st game of the ECQF, knocking out multiple teeth and forcing him to wear a full, clear face shield for the rest of the playoffs.
He talked about the damage he suffered, also noting he got a pair of teeth back after they were found on the ice at Capital One Arena and that he was in the dentist's chair until 3 AM that morning.

Alexeyev has 8 points (1G, 7A) in 80 career NHL games, which were all with the Capitals.
