Mitch Marner throws shade at Maple Leafs when describing Christmas wish
Former Toronto Maple Leafs forward Mitch Marner, now with the Vegas Golden Knights, said what he wants for Christmas, and some think it's a dig at Toronto.
The Mitch Marner era with the Toronto Maple Leafs ended this summer not long after the Leafs were once again eliminated from the Stanley Cup Playoffs by the divisional foe Florida Panthers.
Marner, who took heavy criticism once again for his playoff performance, is now with the Vegas Golden Knights after he was part of a massive sign and trade deal; the Maple Leafs got Nicolas Roy in return for him.
Marner's former team is struggling to find consistency, but his new team is tied for the lead in the Pacific Division.
After the Golden Knights beat the San Jose Sharks 7-2 on Tuesday night, Marner was asked during a postgame interview what he wanted for Christmas. And his answer is causing many to think that he was taking a shot at his former team.

Marner and the Maple Leafs were eliminated from the postseason by the Panthers in the second round, once again losing in a Game 7.
During the game in the second period after a series of Panthers goals, Marner was seen yelling at his teammates on the bench in frustration, another moved that drew a share of criticism from fans.
Marner is doing well in Vegas, and at the same time, the Leafs just fired assistant coach Marc Savard.
