The Canucks have been searching for someone to fill a role down the middle, and now, Oskar Sundqvist of the St. Louis Blues has become a genuine option.

Early this season, the Vancouver Canucks have shown plenty of promise, and while they currently sit at 5-6-0 on the season, if they can find their consistency, this is a team with Stanley Cup Playoffs hopes.
However, they've clearly got a major hole to fill behind Elias Pettersson in their lineup, with recent speculation revealing that they have their eyes on Pavel Zacha of the Boston Bruins for their 2C role.

Canucks Eyeing A Conference Rival For A Centre Upgrade

Now, perhaps their focus has shifted to another player, as recent reports from insider Cam Robinson on the Sekeres and Price show has revealed that the team are eyeing Oskar Sundqvist of the St. Louis Blues as a potential upgrade.
One player that did get mentioned to me a couple of times is Oskar Sundqvist in St. Louis.
The 31-year old was a former third-round pick back in the 2012 NHL Draft, and while he's never quite become the star that some believed he could be, he has 21 and 20 points over the past two seasons, and in a bigger role, he could perhaps be a solid fit for Vancouver.
With the team having post-season aspirations behind Quinn Hughes, Pettersson and the talent in this lineup however, there's a chance that they're looking much higher than Sundqvist into an actual difference maker, but if that can't be found, this could be a very cheap way for the Canucks to upgrade down the middle.
