The Vancouver Canucks could soon trade Elias Pettersson, and ex-Canucks coach Bruce Boudreau believes he'd thrive in a new environment in a new sweater.

Nothing is going right for the Vancouver Canucks right now, who have sunk to the bottom of the Western Conference standings and had lost a franchise record 11 games in a row.
They've already made one major trade this year, sending captain Quinn Hughes to the Minnesota Wild, and weeks later, traded Kiefer Sherwood to the divisional foe San Jose Sharks.
There are several players who are still heavily involved in trade rumours, including Jake DeBrusk, Conor Garland, and Elias Pettersson.
Speaking as a guest on TSN, ex-Canucks coach Bruce Boudreau was asked if he thinks Pettersson could thrive in a new environment, and Boudreau didn't hesitate to answer that he would.
I really do. I thought he was a really great player when I had him, and he had 100+ points the one year, and I think a change of scenery will do him great. The pressure - it's not even pressure. It's the way Vancouver is, they make a lot of changes and you're always thinking there's a new move coming in. But this kid is an elite player....I think what would have to happen is, Vancouver would have to eat some money. But at the same time, the team that gets him would be getting a middle-twenty aged superstar and he would be great for them. -Bruce Boudreau

Pettersson still has several years on his contract with an AAV (average annual value) of $11.6 million.

The Canucks Made It Clear They Are Open For Business

Per comments from Canucks executives, they are ready to listen on just about every player on the roster if the right offer comes along.
With Hughes and Sherwood already having been traded, it won't be surprising to see names like Pettersson and Garland and DeBrusk soon moved as the Canucks begin to make additional big changes.
The Trade Deadline this year is March 6.
