Connor Ingram entered the NHL's Player Assistance Program late in the 2024/25 campaign, but now the Mammoth goaltender has been cleared for return.
Many players who enter this program do so for their struggles away from the ice, and while some haven't been helped, others have attributed the care in this program as a key factor for why they were able to get past whatever ailed them and get back onto the ice.
Ingram is officially released from the Player Assistance Program
The hope with Ingram is that it will be the latter, as on Wednesday, the NHL released the fantastic news that he had officially completed the program and has been cleared to return to the ice with just weeks before training camp officially begins for the new season.
After his mother's tragic and heartbreaking passing, Ingram posted this beautiful message on social media for his followers, noting that he'll be back as a member of the Utah Mammoth in no time, with the league officially confirming the great news.
In decades gone by, this is the type of thing that a player would not be able to get help with from the league, but as player help both mentally and physically improves around the NHL, they now provide these amazing services to help players get back to 100% in whatever way they need.
With Utah having a big off-season, they are likely looking to push for a spot in the Stanley Cup Playoffs this year, and with Ingram now set to retain his role as the backup behind
Karel Vejmelka, fans will no doubt be in support of him as he officially makes his return.
