Matthew Tkachuk reportedly warned Auston Matthews and Jack Roslovic he would go after one of them if they hit him with the Superman celly.

Team USA has spent the last few years building one of the tightest locker rooms in the sport, and that closeness came with a catch.
According to a story making the rounds this week, Matthew Tkachuk pulled his teammates aside and made it clear that friendship only goes so far once the puck drops.
If either Auston Matthews or Jack Roslovic ever lined up against him, scored, and busted out the Superman celebration, he was promising real consequences for somebody on the ice.
"He told us if we played against them and scored and did the Superman celly he was going to kill one of us."

It is the kind of line that sounds like a joke until you remember who is saying it.
Tkachuk has built his entire career on being the guy nobody wants to face, on the ice or in a group chat, and this warning fits right into that reputation.

Why the threat actually makes sense

Matthews has leaned on the Superman pose as his signature celebration for years, and it is one of the more recognizable moments in the league every time he scores a big one.
Tkachuk knows exactly how much that celly gets under an opponent's skin, which is probably why he got ahead of it before it ever happens in a real game.
Roslovic, for his part, does not appear to be losing much sleep over it.
Based on the reaction to the story, he seems more than willing to risk Tkachuk's wrath for the last laugh on the scoresheet.

A rivalry building before it even starts

With Roslovic now skating beside Matthews in Toronto after their reunion this summer, and Tkachuk still one of the most feared competitors in the league, this is a storyline that only gets better the closer these three get to sharing the ice again.
With the puck about to drop on the season, all eyes will be on this situation when they face off.
