The Maple Leafs have made plenty of team moves this off-season, and now they've hired the exciting Ryan Leslie of Hockey Night in Canada.

This off-season, things have changed for the Toronto Maple Leafs, as the team moved on from Mitch Marner while adding the likes of Mattias Macelli, Nicolas Roy and Dakota Joshua.
This comes after the team were incredibly busy at the 2025 trade deadline as well, and now, they've made a surprising yet welcome move off the ice, adding another intriguing face to the Maple Leafs fan experience.

Why Toronto Turned to a Sportsnet Veteran for Exclusive Coverage

As announced on Tuesday, the Maple Leafs welcomed Ryan Leslie, Sportsnet and now former Calgary Flames host to their roster ahead of the 2025/26 campaign as the newest in-game host for the team.
The former Flames host is one of the most professional and respected hosts in the entire National Hockey League, with fans in Western Canada growing to love him over the past few years whether it was with a specific game or on Hockey Night in Canada on Sportsnet.

What Leslie's Arrival Means for Leafs Fans Ahead of 2025-26 Season

This means that for Maple Leafs fans watching at home, they'll get excellent coverage of their team from someone that deeply understands the game and the players, and respects them in his reporting at all times.
It may not be the biggest move or even the one that Maple Leafs fans were hoping for, but Leslie is a major upgrade and a fantastic new addition for the organization, one that will be sorely missed by Flames fans as he moves on to the next phase in his career.
