Kevin Bieksa was an all-time tough guy in the NHL, especially for Vancouver, but after recent comments, he's been called out by some fans on social media.

Recently, the Toronto Maple Leafs lost their captain Auston Matthews for the season with an injury as a result of a collision with Anaheim Ducks captain Radko Gudas.
That resulted in a five-game suspension for Gudas for the knee-on-knee contact from the veteran defenseman, but it's also resulted in many fans and analysts calling out the Maple Leafs for their lack of reaction to the play.
One of those people is Sportsnet analyst Kevin Bieksa, who had this to say about his time in Vancouver when referencing the Maple Leafs lack of fight for their captain following the injury.
Do we not value courage enough anymore?... If [the Sedins] got touched, I would fight Andre the Giant.

Kevin Bieksa called out for lying about his fighting in Vancouver

On paper, this is a fairly solid statement from Bieksa, who was known as a great tough guy in the NHL, but now, fans have called him out for embellishing his fighting abilities, as many have made reference to the 2011 Stanley Cup Finals, when he and his team failed to stand up for the superstar Sedin twins.
I love Bieksa. However, the further he gets away from the game, the more he inclined is to make things up. I recall a certain Stanley cup final where no body stood up for the twins.
Ultimately, Bieksa is still widely respected for his work on the ice and his work covering the game since retirement, but in flaming the Maple Leafs, many found fault in his statement, whether he was correct about their lack of courage or not.
