Former Toronto Maple Leafs forward Jeff O'Neill blasted the effort by the Leafs during their 5-2 loss on Saturday night to the divisional foe Montreal Canadiens.

The Toronto Maple Leafs lost 5-2 to the divisional foe Montreal Canadiens at Bell Centre on Saturday night, their latest harmful loss.
The Canadiens dominated nearly every part of the game, leading to TNT analyst and former Maple Leafs forward Jeff O'Neill to blast the Leafs in his opinion of what took place.
Dude, that was like an alumni game where you play against firemen or something like that. You know what I mean? It was really bad. They played keep away. - Jeff O'Neill

The Maple Leafs need to figure things out in a hurry to avoid sinking further in the standings.
Even though they lost forward Mitch Marner during the summer, who had a career-best 102 points last season, nobody could have predicted the Leafs would be in last place in their division as the American Thanksgiving holiday approaches.

The Maple Leafs Are Now In Last Place In The Atlantic Division Standings

This is nothing short of very unfamiliar territory for the Maple Leafs, who are now in last place in the Atlantic Division thanks to their loss to the Canadiens along with the win by the Buffalo Sabres over the Carolina Hurricanes, leapfrogging them.
The Maple Leafs have been considerably shorhanded in recent games, as players like Auston Matthews, Anthony Stolarz and Matthew Knies have not been able to play.
But even so, the Maple Leafs still have enough talent on their roster to be playing better than they are. Leafs fans could be in for a rough year if they don't turn things around here, and soon.
