Ilya Samsonov takes shots at Leafs fans after first win as a Golden Knight

All in all, some of his comments came off as subtle digs at his old team, mainly when he stated that he enjoys the fan experience in Vegas much more than in Toronto.

Well, as was probably expected, Samsonov's comments indeed set the Twitter/X world ablaze. Several Leafs fans bristled at what they felt was a critique, while Vegas fans came to their new goaltender's defense. What had been an innocuous post-game interview had morphed into another chapter of the ongoing fanbase rivalry.

Going from a guy with an uncertain future in Toronto, he seems rejuvenated, playing with much confidence and taking pleasure with a team that wants him.
