Elliotte Friedman believes Maple Leafs have taken firm stance on making 'panic move'
The Maple Leafs have struggled as of late, but according to Elliotte Friedman, the team aren't going to make a panic move to get them out of their funk.
This season was meant to be yet another great one for the Toronto Maple Leafs, but as of late, this has been a team that's struggled mightily to find their best regular season form.
With losses in five of their past seven games, the Maple Leafs entered the Christmas break sitting in last place in the Atlantic Division with just 37 points, and now, many expected them to potentially make a big panic move.
Elliotte Friedman confirms no panic moves are on the way
However, according to NHL Insider Elliotte Friedman on the FAN Hockey Show, the team are open to making a smaller, affordable move, but have ruled out making a splash that could change the season for Toronto, for now.
If they could do something small that doesn't cost them a lot maybe they do that, but they're not gonna make any gigantic panic moves to try to save this year. - Elliotte Friedman
For a while now, many have connected Toronto to the likes of Rasmus Andersson, but given that he would come at a cost, it's this type of move that the team are likely to hold off making for now.
Ultimately, if they can get the season back on track, with the team sitting just five points out of the final Wild Card spot in the Eastern Conference, things could certainly change for the front office, but as of right now, no massive move is expected from them.
