The Toronto Maple Leafs are struggling mightily, and after their latest loss, William Nylander appears to be utterly defeated.

This season has already been a rough one for the Toronto Maple Leafs, but this latest stretch has gotten worse, with the team losing six of their last eight overall games.
That continued on Sunday night as they fell in a tough one to the Dallas Stars with a 5-1 final score, and with their overall record now sitting at 15-15-5, things aren't looking good for their Stanley Cup Playoffs hopes.

In that matchup, the Maple Leafs scored one goal despite 28 shots on net, and with the Stars tallying five goals on just 22 shots, it highlights many reasons why this team hasn't been at their best this season.
Unfortunately, there could now be some serious effects of their struggles, with star winger William Nylander clearly effected by how bad the team has played overall this season.
When speaking after the game, the star forward was unusually rattled, and despite being one of the teams most positive players in recent years, things are finally getting to him.
I don't know if I've felt like this before. - William Nylander
As PuckEmpire put it, the Maple Leafs have 'broken' William Nylander.
Despite the teams struggles, Nylander has 11 goals and 36 points across 30 games played this season, but with Auston Matthews dealing with injuries and Mitch Marner departing this past summer, things aren't going quite as planned.
There's still over half of the season left for Toronto to turn things around, but with Nylander reacting like this along with their struggles and their injury issues, it's safe to say that tensions are reaching a fever pitch in Toronto as of late.
