The Maple Leafs are struggling early in 2025/26, but despite doubts over his future, Brad Treliving has confirmed he has 100% faith in Craig Berube.
After some very impressive regular seasons in recent years, things are falling apart for the Toronto Maple Leafs, and with five straight losses, they've fallen to 8-9-2 overall on the new season.
That places them tied with the Buffalo Sabres for last place in the entire Eastern Conference, a place no one expected them to be, and with injuries piling up, this is a team that's struggling to find life.
Brad Treliving confirms confidence in Head Coach Craig Berube
Recently, NHL Insider Elliotte Friedman
commented on the future of Head Coach Craig Berube, who, in just his second season behind the bench has come under fire from analysts and Maple Leafs fans alike.
Now, General Manager Brad Treliving has addressed that very same topic, expressing that for now, he still has 100% faith in the Stanley Cup winning Head Coach to steady the ship.
I've got all of the faith in our coach right now.
While this reads like a supportive comment from Treliving, one can't help but notice the words 'right now' at the end of his statement, because for a team that's expected to be a contending squad, their current play simply doesn't reflect that, and if that poor level of play continues, a change may be forced upon them.
For now though, Treliving believes in this coach and this team to steady the ship and start finding some victories, because if they don't, this may go down as one of the most disappointing seasons in franchise history.
