Stuart Skinner has struggled for the most part in his NHL career, and now it appears he's become a laughing stock after being humiliated by a Sabres broadcaster.
Stuart Skinner has flashed brilliance before with the Edmonton Oilers, but after posting a GAA under .900 over the past two seasons and struggling in the Stanley Cup Playoffs, he's become a target.
At this current moment, he's a target for Edmonton Oilers fans as the team have fallen to 9-8-4 on the current season, but it appears as though other teams are now becoming happy to take a shot at the 27-year old goaltender.
Buffalo Sabres broadcaster roasts Stuart Skinner
On Monday, the Oilers took on the Buffalo Sabres in Buffalo, and in that matchup, the road team
came up short 5-1, with Skinner allowing four goals on just 27 shots from the Sabres.
The home broadcast team didn't miss the opportunity to throw shade at Skinner either, as they were quick to compare the empty net to what the net had been all night with Skinner playing.
Empty net for Edmontonyeah, it has been most of the night, so what's the difference?
Some fans called out the broadcast team as the Sabres have traditionally been one of the worst teams in the National Hockey League, but others saw it for what it was, which was a funny, harmless joke on a night where Buffalo got the best of a contending team.
At this point, there's plenty of good with Skinner, but there's way too many nights when he gets shelled like this, and it's safe to say that if the team want to win, they may need to find a way for a major upgrade in net.
