Auston Matthews responds to booing fans after turnaround win against Chicago
Toronto Maple Leafs captain Auston Matthews responded to the fans who were booing the team before their 3-2 comeback win over the Chicago Blackhawks at home.
Even though things seemed bleak for the Toronto Maple Leafs as they entered the third period of last night's game against the Chicago Blackhawks down 2-0, they were able to earn a big comeback win.
Goals from captain Auston Matthews and Dakota Joshua just nine seconds apart in the third period gave the Maple Leafs what would be a 3-2 win.
Earlier in the game, Maple Leafs fans were venting their frustrations with their team for their underwhelming performances and let them have it with a chorus of boos at Scotiabank Arena.
It's what Matthews, who has been injured for several games during this season, thinks they deserved considering their performance in the first two periods of the game.
The boo birds were coming down, rightfully so. I think after that first goal, the crowd really got into it, which is great, and then after the second one, the place was rocking.

The Maple Leafs Beat The Blackhawks 3-2 After Trailing 2-0
Things were not looking promising for the Leafs against the Blackhawks, who had a 2-0 lead going into the third period after goals from Wyatt Kaiser and Jason Dickinson in the first period.
But Toronto got life with a goal from Oliver Ekman-Larsson midway through the third period, followed by the goals nine seconds apart from Matthews and Joshua.
It was Matthews' 14th goal, and Joshua scored his fifth; he's playing in his first year in a Maple Leafs sweater.
