Phillip Danault's agent calls out Canadiens reporter: 'Shameful attention seeking'
Recently, reports have emerged over Phillip Danault's future in LA, but now, his agent has rebuked those reports, claiming they are 'shameful attention seeking'.
This season hasn't been a great one for the Los Angeles Kings thus far, and although the team are sitting at 14-9-9 through their first 32 games, they're not quite where they want to be as an organization.
That's led to plenty of speculation about their path forward, with recent reports suggesting that veteran forward Phillip Danault has requested a trade from the franchise.
Danault's agent calls out reports over his supposed trade request
Now however, renowned NHL agent Allan Walsh, who serves as Danault's agent has taken to social media to lash out at Marco D'Amico who first reported his trade request from the Kings.
You never bothered to check with me. Shameful attention seeking reporting. - Allan Walsh
He ends that post with the message #NotAnInsider as well, making it very, very clear what he thinks of D'Amico and his reporting, as the reporter clearly never came to Walsh to ask about the situation, despite very likely having access to him to do just that.
This season, Danault has tallied just five assists across 30 games, and while the 32-year old is clearly slowing down, on the right team and the right situation, he still clearly has the talent to be able to thrive at the NHL level.
Ultimately, there's still a chance that Danault forces his way out of Los Angeles at some point this season, but as of right now, Walsh has refuted reports of him doing that, so we will keep a close eye on this developing situation moving forward.
