The NHL is becoming as competitive as ever, and with so few spots throughout the league for free agents, some players are forced to turn to overseas interest or the AHL. The latter is now true for a former first-round pick, as Colin White a first-round selection back in the 2015 NHL Draft with Ottawa has signed with the San Jose Barracuda as he looks to find himself a permanent position in the NHL.
While it may be a disappointing career move for White, the Barracuda couldn't be more excited to have White, as they believe he'll bring plenty to the table as he looks to work his way back to the NHL.
Over the course of his NHL career, White has skated in 320 games with Ottawa, Florida, Pittsburgh and most recently Montreal, and in that time, he's accumulated a solid 44 goals and 113 points. At 27-years of age, there's still plenty of time for White to reach his potential in the NHL, and if he takes this latest move the right way, he could come out of it a better player than ever.
