Robby Fabbri lands with the Minnesota Wild on a waiver claim, and the forward picture tightens fast.

Elliotte Friedman broke it first, and the move feels like Minnesota grabbing offense before it turns into a full blown roster scramble.
Fabbri, 30, was a 2014 first-round pick, 21st overall by the St. Louis Blues. He has 1-3-4 in 15 games this season.
St. Louis put him on waivers after Robert Thomas returned, and someone had to come off the list. That is the brutal math of March.
Minnesota now bets Fabbri can play pace hockey on the third line and still slide up if injuries hit. It is a cheap way to add a winger who knows NHL minutes.

Robby Fabbri gives the Minnesota Wild a new edge

Wild fans have been begging for any spark that does not cost a prospect, so this one will get a real look.
If Fabbri wins battles on the wall and gets pucks to the middle, he stays. If not, the waiver wire stays open.
