NHL analyst Eric Engels is getting backlash online for his comments on Pittsburgh Penguins captain Sidney Crosby after he passed Mario Lemieux on Sunday for most points in franchise history.

During last night's game against the Montreal Canadiens at PPG Paints Arena, Pittsburgh Penguins captain Sidney Crosby officially passed Mario Lemieux for most points in team history.
It was also Pittsburgh's first win in nine games, finally putting an end to what was a season-worst eight game losing streak.
But NHL analyst Eric Engels is facing considerable backlash online for suggesting that a trade of Crosby would be the best thing for both Crosby and the Penguins.
It'll be up to Crosby to ask for a trade to continue pursuing the only thing that's ever mattered to him - winning - and if he does it, he'll give the Penguins a better chance of finding the next one than if he rode out the rest of his career with them.

Sidney Crosby Has Been Involved In Multiple Trade Rumours

Even so, there's no denying that Crosby has been involved in multiple trade rumours in recent months, especially after the Penguins missed the postseason for three straight years, the longest drought of his career.
Ironically, one of the teams that he's been linked to is the Canadiens, the team he grew up watching and rooting for as a child.
He's also been linked to the Colorado Avalanche, who have his good friend Nathan MacKinnon.
Regardless of where he eventually finishes his career, Crosby will forever be a Penguins icon and there will never be another player who wears sweater No. 87 in Penguins history.
