Islanders make emergency roster move after injury to Ilya Sorokin
Because of the injury to goaltender Ilya Sorokin, the New York Islanders have been forced into calling up goaltender Marcus Hogberg from the American Hockey League affiliate's Bridgeport Sound Tigers.
The New York Islanders have one game left before the holiday break, but they will not have goaltender Ilya Sorokin available for the matchup against the divisional foe New Jersey Devils.
The Islanders have announced that Sorokin won't be able to play and has been shut down through the holiday break because of a "nagging" injury, and that they're using the break between now and December 27 to their advantage to allow him to rest and rehab.
They have also called up goaltender Marcus Hogberg from the American Hockey League affiliate Bridgeport Sound Tigers.

So far this year, Sorokin is 12-10-2 with a .910 SV% and three shutouts. In Bridgeport, Hogberg has gone 5-7-2 with a .881 SV%.
