Pittsburgh Penguins captain Sidney Crosby is making a triumphant return to the ice after his Olympic injury, and is doing so ahead of schedule, showing his testament to his craft and dedication to his team.

All year long, the Pittsburgh Penguins have defied the odds and appear destined to get back to the postseason for the first time since 2022 when they lost a heartbreaking OT Game 7 to the divisional foe New York Rangers.
And now they're getting the heart and soul of their team back, not long after having already gotten Evgeni Malkin back from a suspension.
Captain Sidney Crosby is making a triumphant return for the Penguins, who went 5-3-3 without him, and is doing so ahead of schedule.
He was initially projected to miss at least four weeks with the injury he sustained in the Olympics overseas.
So far this year, Crosby has 59 points (27G, 32A) in 56 games.

All Trade Talk And Rumours Of Sidney Crosby Have Been Put Off For Now

Before the year began for the Penguins, who were projected by most fans and analysts to come nowhere close to a playoff spot, there were rampant rumours that the team could choose to trade him.
It seems unimaginable for Crosby to wear the sweater of any other NHL team other than the Penguins, who took him with the first overall pick in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft, popularly known as the Crosby Sweepstakes.
He'd been linked to teams like the Montreal Canadiens, the team he grew up as a boy rooting for, and the Colorado Avalanche, who have his good friend and Team Canada teammate Nathan MacKinnon.
But thanks to the Penguins defying all odds this year and likely getting back to the playoffs, those rumours have been put to rest - at least, for now.
