NHL analyst Scott Maxwell has named 3 different teams that could be in the running to trade for Penguins forward Evgeni Malkin, who is in the last year of his deal with Pittsburgh.

Most of the rumours surrounding the Pittsburgh Penguins have been involving captain and future Hall of Famer Sidney Crosby, whom may believe will want a final chance at winning a Stanley Cup before he retires.
Since the Penguins aren't likely to make the playoffs and certainly aren't Stanley Cup contenders, it would make sense for Crosby to look elsewhere for a final title.
But also joining him in those rumours is forward Evgeni Malkin, whom many believe is playing in his final year in the NHL.
NHL analyst Scott Maxwell has put forward 3 teams that Malkin could potentially be traded to in a recent piece:
While it's likely he sticks around for the balance of this season with the Pens so his stats sheet can say just one team, Malkin has also commented on the success Brad Marchand had switching teams and winning somewhere else with the Florida Panthers. Whether Malkin does so with the Panthers themselves as they look to bandage the hole left by Aleksander Barkov, or with another contender looking for center depth like the Toronto Maple Leafs or Vancouver Canucks, teams will certainly consider acquiring the 39-year-old.

Evgeni Malkin Is In the Final Year of His Contract in Pittsburgh

Malkin has been with the Penguins since he was taken 2nd overall behind Alex Ovechkin by Pittsburgh in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft.
He's helped them to 3 Stanley Cups, and also won the Conn Smythe Trophy in 2009 as the MVP of the postseason.
A trade to the Panthers would make logistical sense considering he has a home in Miami, and Florida also recently lost captain Aleksander Barkov for the entire year with an ACL/MCL injury.
The Maple Leafs and Canucks would also represent better chances for Malkin to lift the Stanley Cup once more before he inevitably retires.
