According to Daily Faceoff's Anthony Di Marco, it looks like Alexei Kolosov won't be heading to the Philadelphia Flyers training camp later this month. If he doesn't report, his contract can be delayed, similar to what happened with Ivan Fedotov a couple of years ago, when the Flyers pushed back the start of his deal. Another option would be to trade him, and two teams have emerged as the front runners: the Calgary Flames and Nashville Predators.
Frank Seravalli from Daily Faceoff also confirmed the news, stating that Alexei Kolosov isn't expected to attend camp.
The Belarusian goalie, selected by the Flyers in the third round of the 2021 NHL Draft, has been playing in the KHL with Dynamo Minsk. In four seasons, he's compiled a 49-56-19 record, with a respectable .909 save percentage and a 2.56 goals-against average, including six shutouts.
Alexei Kolosov did get a short stint with the Flyers AHL affiliate, the Lehigh Valley Phantoms, towards the end of last season. In two games he went 1-1-0, posting an .885 save percentage, while allowing six goals. As for the Flyers, they wrapped up last year with a 38-33-11 record, which was good for sixth in the Metropolitan Division. They held a playoff spot for much of the year but suffered through a rough 2-6-2 finish in their final 10 games to get knocked out in the final stretch of the season.
