Cam York was shockingly left on the Flyers bench for their last game, and now he's addressed the entire situation surrounding former coach John Tortorella.
The last 48 hours have been filled with drama in Philadelphia, with Head Coach John Tortorella being moved on, reportedly following an incident involving defenseman Cam York, who was given no playing time in their latest game on Thursday, with interim coach Brad Shaw categorizing that as a disciplinary measure.
Now, while York didn't go into details on what happened, he has addressed the entire situation, stating that it's been handled in the locker room and that he's focused on the remaining schedule in Philly.
«I'm not gonna get into the details. For my actions. It's been addressed in the locker room. We've got eight games left here, and that's my focus right now.»
Again, the speculation involves a potential physical altercation, but York wouldn't get into that, instead he simply gave a glowing review of Tortorella as a coach, harping on the lessons that the veteran coach taught him during his time in Philadelphia.
«He taught me a lot of really good things. I'm gonna use a lot of things he taught me down the road in my career. He's a really good coach, and I wish him the best of luck down the road.»
As of right now, there's no detailed description of what happened, but York now finds himself in plenty of trade speculation, although the 24-year old blue liner reiterates that he wants to remain in Philadelphia moving forward.
«This is where I want to be. I love what's going on here, and I love what we're building. It hasn't been our best year, but this is where I want to be for the future.»
Ultimately, York didn't give us anything more on the situation, but he addressed it head on, taking accountability for whatever happened between he and Tortorella, and now, he's looking to move on as a key part of the Flyers locker room and wants to remain there for a long time to come.
