Hurricanes defenseman Brett Pesce reportedly signs with a division rival

The Carolina Hurricanes will likely be losing defenseman Brett Pesce to their division rival New Jersey Devils this offseason per numerous reports.

This next week will be one of the busiest of the season for hockey teams all over. First, there is the Stanley Cup Final game seven tonight which will determine if the Florida Panthers or the Edmonton Oilers will be bringing home the cup. Then four days later, we will have the NHL draft take place. Then on July first, NHL free agency will open up.

Today there have been numerous reports stating that Carolina Hurricanes defenseman Brett Pesce will be signing with the New Jersey Devils on July 1.

Hearing Brett Pesce is likely to end up with the New Jersey Devils

Some rumours swirling around Brett Pesce potentially signing with NJ in free agency... two-way top-four righty who defends the rush well, kills penalties, and shuts down passing lanes.

100% sounds like Brett Pesce will be a #NJDevils defenseman on July 1.

We will now have to wait one weak for to see if the reports are true but as it stands, it looks like the long-time Hurricanes defenseman, will be heading to New Jersey.
