The country of Canada hasn't seen a team win the Stanley Cup in over 30 years, and now one fan has tried to get to the bottom of Gary Bettman's hatred.
For some time now, many Canadians have believed that Gary Bettman, the Commissioner of the NHL has a hatred of their teams, because every time one gets close to the Stanley Cup, something fishy happens. It's not happened to the Edmonton Oilers yet in 2024, as they are just one win away from their first title since 1990, but if it does, more questions will be raised.
One fan recently took straight to the source to figure out if this was the case or not, but unsurprisingly, he got very little answer from the Commissioner.
#LetsGoOilers fan asks Gary Bettman why he dislikes Canadian teams
Even with more talk of relocation, the league appear determined to expand the game in the United States, and even with so many Canadian players taking the NHL by storm, they seemingly refuse to look at Canada as an option. Sure, there's many reasons that go into that decision, but when you continue adding up the treatment, fans can't be blamed for their belief.
It's a popular yet baseless belief from hockey fans, but this one fan tried to get to the bottom of it, and while Bettman seemingly ignored him once he saw the camera, we can't blame him for trying.
