Nashville Predators Set to Cut Ties With Cup Champion & Former Top-15 Pick Per Latest Report

The Nashville Predators were not necessarily expected to be world beaters this season, but their 30-44-8 record came as a surprise even to fans who were not particularly high on the team's chances.

This is largely due to the fact that the team made several huge additions in free agency including Steven Stamkos and Jonathan Marchessault.

Unfortunately those moved backfired as the team lacked chemistry and struggled to create offense.

General manager Barry Trotz made a few moves at the deadline but held onto his most valuable assets.

That being said, Marchessault is reportedly in trade discussions for a possible move this summer.

Trotz did however, bring in veteran forward Jakub Vrana in a minor deal with the Washington Capitals.

Vrana would make 13 apperances for the Predators at the end of the season, potting 2 goals and adding a helper for just three points.

The 29-year-old has bounced around the league in recent years as he has delt with significant injury problems, appearing in just 85 total regular-season contests since the start of the 2022-23 season.

Now it appears as though he will be on the move again as Daily Faceoff reporter Anthony Di Marco confirmed that Trotz does not plan to bring him back.

At this point there is a very real chance he will end up retiring or returning to Europe considering the way his career has been trending.

It is a shame that the former 13th overall pick was never able to truly live up to his potential, posting just two 20-goal seasons since being drafted in 2014.

He has 119 career goals and 223 points in 406 games.
